![]() ![]() ![]() It's awesome to be able to click Rating and see all of my favorite bands at the top. These column headings are clickable, and will sort my Library accordingly. There's a few third-party components (plugins) I use for foobar2000: Facets lets me easily sort my music using the 4 (or more, or fewer - it's up to you) columns in the upper-left: Release Year, Genre, Album Artist, Rating, Number of Items, Albums, etc. (Still a work in progress - I haven't even started on portrait layout yet, even tho it is very easy to customize with a bit of repetitive practice.) (I have an ultrawide, a 16:10, a 16:9, and a portrait monitor.) Here's the "Ultrawide No Art" layout: See just under the main controls, I have tabs labelled Ultrawide, Ultrawide No Art, Wide, etc.? These are my "layout presets" so I can easily use foobar on any of my monitors. Now that I've actually taken the time to customize foobar2000, I can safely say that it doesn't have any real competition. Then I tried AIMP, Sonique, MediaMonkey, Amarok, foobar200, and settled on Clementine for a couple years. I used Winamp for several hours every day for years. They didn't sell me a music service, they sold me a lure for YouTube without googles commercials and now I'm hooked!Īnd the only reason I signed up in the first place is because all the music apps suck at Anythink like a centralized playlist that's easy to manage and syns and shares easily. So, they don't really care how much I dislike the music app I paid for, because I should be watching YouTube like a good little targeted advertising sheep. Oh I get it, Google mudt make more money if I watch YouTube under almost any circumstance. I could get Spotify, but then it would be hard to justify YouTube Red since there's no discount for like YouTube Red without Google Music. Now I still need a music app that doesn't at making playlists. With YouTube Red included it's really a great deal, but technically I signed up for a music app and wound up realizing I could live without the music app but YouTube Red is kind of useful. Like, is it me or is the entire Google Music platform kind of like a sad joke of what could have been. It's clearly all a big scam to get you to give up and go with streaming services, but even then the playlist still suck. Google Music functionally can play and sync music kind of okay, but the interface and ability to create playlist and edit playlist is a complete joke. Musicbee is really good, but the lack of bi-directional sync really screws up the potential of a music app. ![]() It's so pathetic that winamp and mediamonkey are still some of the most functional music apps for ppl with music collections. ![]()
